Kirkleatham Museum and Grounds

Kirkleatham Museum & Grounds

The Kirkleatham Museum provides a beautiful backdrop to the cafe. The museum occupies the splendid former free school built in the 18th century by Cholmley Turner. The building became an official local history museum in the early 1980s with the intention of housing existing collections brought in from elsewhere.

Today, Kirkleatham Museum is a popular attraction for the Redcar and Cleveland region, particularly since the installation of the famous Saxon Princess exhibition, featuring rare Anglo-Saxon artefacts unearthed from the Cleveland region in 2007.

There is also a park for visitors to enjoy all year round with a variety of swings, slides, sensory and climbing equipment.

Access to the museum is free with free parking facilities.
